The source of these fine fibres is a type of goat with a confusing name, it is actually known not only as the mohair goat but also as the angora goat. The mohair goat is usually shorn twice a year, producing a silky, gleaming, lightly crimped down, which hardly felts and takes dyes excellently. Mohair is very warm, virtually pill-free and is wonderfully fluffy. The finest fibres come from the young animals, which are given their first clip at the age of about six months. Kid Mohair is the name given to the highest quality, which is used in many hand-knitting yarns. MOHAIR TREND is composed of a silk mesh, into which the super kid mohair is bound, producing this featherlight, high quality luxury yarn. With a running length of 75 metres to 25 grams, MOHAIR TREND is thicker than the classic LANGYARNS Mohair Luxe.
